This course will not teach a programming language, but we teach the tools you need to do programming well and avoid common inefficiency traps. The tools we teach are practically a requirement for any scientist who needs to write code. The main focus is on using Git for efficiently writing and maintaining research software.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"gp-gutenbergpro-f35c7 wp-block-heading\">Audience<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gp-gutenbergpro-3870b\">Do you identify with any of these below, then this course is for you:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>You write scripts to process data.<\/li><li>You change scripts written by your colleagues.<\/li><li>You write code that is used in research by you or others.<\/li><li>You wish you could re-run your own code after a few months.<\/li><li>You wish you could reproduce your own results better.<\/li><li>You wish you could automate your work better.<\/li><li>You, or your group, can&#8217;t share or reuse code.<\/li><li>You overall want to become more efficient at your work, by using the best possible tools.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"gp-gutenbergpro-acb2c wp-block-heading\">Registration<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gp-gutenbergpro-fffa8\">The workshop will be held on&nbsp;March 21-23 and 28-30, 2023<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gp-gutenbergpro-a2819\"><a href=\"https:\/\/coderefinery.github.io\/2023-03-21-workshop\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Go to the CodeRefinery workshop webpage for more information and registration.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"gp-gutenbergpro-7a786 wp-block-heading\">About CodeRefinery<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gp-gutenbergpro-5092f\">CodeRefinery acts as a hub for FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) software practices. It currently focuses on the Nordic\/Baltic countries, but aims to expand beyond this region. CodeRefinery aims to operate as a community project with support from academic organisations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"gp-gutenbergpro-87ee9\">CodeRefinery is a project within the\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/neic.no\/\" target=\"_blank\">Nordic e-Infrastructure Collaboration<\/a>\u00a0(NeIC). NeIC is a joint initiative between the Nordic countries, and the NeIC Board based on nominations by the national e-infrastructure provider organisations.
